George E. Boxall was an English-born writer and journalist whose History of the Australian Bushrangers (first published 1899) became a standard early account of colonial outlawry. This edition appends The Jerilderie Letter (1879), Ned Kelly's own manifesto, dictated by the outlaw to explain and justify his campaign against the colonial authorities.
